Bri Barton
Illustrator and Designer, Aqua Marooned!
Bri Barton is an artist and educator. She works in the spirit of earth worship, racial justice, and ecofeminism. She uses paint, ink, and story to create art that is celebratory and informative.
She is co-creator, with Meg Lemieur, of Water Ways, a series of collaborative drawings illustrating the unfolding story of natural gas resistance in the Mid Atlantic Region.
Since 2019, Bri and Meg have worked together to design and illustrate the characters and cards of Aqua Marooned! Bri has brought her decade of educator experience and love of sci-fi and role play games to creating this card game. Bri and Meg share a love of clean water, cats, and color-coded spreadsheets. With their combined forces, they have created the vibrant, whimsical, and poignant images that bring Aqua Marooned! to life.
Bri is also the writer and illustrator of Everything Dies! A Coloring Book About Life!. She teaches garden education and botanical illustration for all ages. Bri graduated Valedictorian from Moore College of Art in 2011 with a double-major in Fine Art and Curatorial Studies. She loves playing games, climbing trees, reading sci-fi, and composting systems of oppression.
