NOTE: This event has been postponed due to rain. Please check back for more updates!
In honor of the solstice, you’re invited to drop by during the afternoon and join Sarah Kavage and a group of young Camden artists (Adriana Amador-Chacon, Breiner Garcia, Monica Perez-Reyes, and Priscilla Rios) as they build a sculpture build at Cramer Hill Nature Preserve.
You are invited to bring a small natural item to contribute to the sculpture.
Attend this event to meet the artists, enjoy some light refreshments, and chat about how nature, safety and care can be connected through art.
Nature’s Long Memory is an interactive artwork that will move around to various sites in New Jersey from Summer into the Fall of 2021. This sculpture will be at Cramer Hill for one week, then re-made and re-designed for each new place it gets installed. This is part of Kavage’s Water Spirit project that is bringing environmental art to AWE Centers throughout the watershed.
How to access Cramer Hill:
The nature preserve can be reached by car, it is also a 6-minute walk from the River Ave/35th St stop of the #452 NJ Transit bus. The main public entrance is on Farragut Avenue, near 36th Street.
