Heidie Mojica is a Philadelphia based artist born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. Her work weaves between practices of photography, sculpture, and installation. For L~W, she created Water Spirit Portraits as a public event at Tacony Creek Park, incorporating Sarah Kavage’s sculpture, Intertwined. The portraits honor both the sitter and the spirit of our shared Watershed.

Mojica received her BFA from Moore College of Art & Design where she was awarded the Angela Murdoch Award for Innovative Photography. Heidie has served as a teaching artist for the Philadelphia Photo Arts Center and Norris Square Community Alliance. Her involvement with local art organizations includes The Barnes Foundation, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, Fleisher/Ollman Gallery, Ulises Books, and The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Her work has been shown across Philadelphia at Tyler School of Art, Tiger Strikes Asteroid, Moore College of Art & Design, PAFA, and most recently in Space on Space magazine.
