DYNAMO: re-generación en esperanza hacia el futuro (re-generation in hopes of the future) is a performance organized by artists José Ortiz-Pagán & Mauricio Pérez with the Philadelphia based collective La Calaca Flaca in collaboration with Camden-area youth groups. The event interacts with Portal, Sarah Kavage’s dramatic phragmites installation that creates a gateway to the Cooper river. Reclaiming the river as a symbol of passage but also confluence, the event will articulate four different individuals's hopes and plans for their lives in the context of migration; featuring sound by Bennett Kuhn; and a solo performance by Aztec dancer Ruben Chico.
A gathering with food by chef Juan Carlos Marin will follow the performance.
All programs will follow COVID-19 preventive protocols and measures.
